During the COVID 19 lockdown, online teaching evolved as the most suitable means to maintain the flow of studies for students and the Internet came as an important player. Students were informed through email and whatsapp about the topics of the classes. Video tutorials were streamed initially on the school website via You Tube. Later as things got a hold, sessions on Google Classroom were conducted. The task at hand was daunting- to effectively manage an online class of children when you aren’t in a classroom physically where you can observe and gauge the interest levels of the students. Well, the challenge was overcome. The response was enthusiastic and the teachers excelled in the challenge posed to them. Not only were the students engaged in studies during the lockdown but a portion of the syllabus was also covered by online classes. Online assignments became the order of the day which will make way to assessments in the days to come. The online teaching model that was meant for exigencies has today become dominant. Kudos to the efforts and determination of the teachers! The season of learning, unlearning and relearning the techniques of the past is on.
