Inter DPS Dance Festival, Zone 3

Delhi Public School, M R Nagar, Mathura hosted the ‘Inter DPS Dance Festival, 2016 on 6th August 2016. The eventful day saw 19 Delhi Public Schools participating in the gala event. The festival commenced with the inaugural ceremony, which was followed by the competition. The participating schools swayed the audience with their performances, which emanated the fragrance of India and its diverse culture.
On the day of the event, the school wore a festive look. The décor radiated an ethnic and folk flavour. A galaxy of dignitaries graced the occasion, namely Shri S M Vaidya, GM I/ C Mathura Refinery and PVC, MC DPS M R; Mrs Surekha Vaidya, President Vrinda Club; Mr Gopal Dutt, Assistant Secretary CBSE; Mr Pownraj, DGM (A &W) CC & CSR, Mathura Refinery; Dr V D Gautam, CM (A &W) CC & Hindi. Other dignitaries from Mathura Refinery namely Mr Murlidhar Sharma, Mr K K Seksariya, Mr Alok Kumar, Mr Fateh Singh were also present. 
The event was adjudged by a panel of eminent personalities from the field of music and dance. Three Reverend judges who put their stamp of excellence were Ms Harshita Mishra, a Parangat, Ms Jyoti Khandelwal, a versatile personality with Prabhakar  in kathak   Dance,  Tabla and vocal music and Ms Kunjlata Mishra, equipped with Nritya Alankaar in Odissi Dance from Gandharv Mahavidyalaya, Mumbai.
The event got an auspicious beginning with Lighting of Lamp by the luminary guests and judges. The Principal, Dr. G P Pandey, in his welcome address emphasized the need to promote performing art as a powerful medium of social reformation. The Chief Guest , Shri. S M Vaidya urged the contestants to look beyond win or loss to be truly able to enjoy the spirit of participation. He also emphasized on the need for such competition to ensure holistic development of the students. The 3 hour long programme was indeed a treat for the eyes and food for the soul as the very talented Dipsites mesmerized the audience with their breath taking performances, holding a mirror onto the stunning realities of our society, thus exhorting one and all to preserve humanity as we climb the ladder of growth and progress.
The Valedictory function was graced by the Chief Guest Shri S M Vaidya, GM I/ C Mathura Refinery and PVC, MC DPS M R and Dr V D Gautam, CM (A &W) CC & Hindi. The Closing Ceremony  began with the medley of songs with multiple flavours of joy, motivation and steadfastness. Ms Kunjlata Mishra, an exponent of Odissi dance  in her address, complimented the teams for their hard work & exemplary performance. She praised the school for successfully hosting the mega event and emphasised on the importance of such opportunities for students.
The festival culminated with the prize distribution which was announced by Dr Gautam.  The school Vice Principal, Mrs Jayashri Sharma gave a formal vote of thanks. The festival culminated with a group photograph followed by rendition of National Anthem. Overall, the day was power packed with the presence of eminent judges and the soul stirring performances by the competitors.
